Unveiling Creativity: Logo Design Contest for CoWalla Creative District A Chance to Shape the Visual Identity of Walla Walla and College Place’s Creative Arts District
Walla Walla, WA – The CoWalla Creative District, a groundbreaking collaboration between the vibrant communities of Walla Walla and College Place, is calling on local residents to channel their artistic flair and design the first-ever official logo for the district. This unique opportunity will allow participants to leave a lasting impact by contributing to a growing cultural landmark that celebrates art, creativity, and community.
In 2024, the CoWalla Creative District was designated the first co-jurisdiction Creative District in Washington State by ArtsWA under the Washington State Arts Commission. Representing a hub of cultural and economic activity, this new district aims to foster collaboration, creativity, and economic growth while serving as a central gathering space for locals and visitors alike.
"We are so excited to see our communities come together and express their creativity through this contest," said Laura Rose-Grabinski, Program Director of ArtWalla. "This logo will embody the spirit and energy of CoWalla, showcasing everything that makes our communities so special."
The logo design contest is open to all residents of Walla Walla and College Place, regardless of age or artistic expertise. Designs should reflect the unique artistic charm and collaborative culture of both communities. Each participant may submit up to three designs for consideration, and the winning design will earn the creator a $500 prize along with public recognition as the district’s official logo designer.
“Art is such a powerful expression of identity, culture, and vision—no one else can create exactly like you!,” said Lizzett Zaragoza, Photographer. “I encourage every artist to embrace their unique perspective and submit their work because your voice matters, and this could be your time to shine.[...] I know firsthand that when we put ourselves out there, incredible things can happen. Keep creating, keep believing—your art has the power to inspire and transform our community.”
